Indiana University School of Dentistry Requirements: Prerequisite Courses
All students applying to Indiana University dental school must have completed at least a minimum of 3 academic years of undergraduate study (90 semester hours or 135 quarter hours).
You must complete at least 30 of the 90 credit hours at a four-year college or university. Preference is given to applicants who have completed an undergraduate degree. They must include the following courses:

*A semester credit hour is an academic unit earned for fifteen 50-minute sessions of classroom instruction with a normal expectation of two hours of outside study for each class session. Typically, a three-semester credit hour course meets three 50-minute sessions per week for fifteen weeks for a total of 45 sessions. Science prerequisites required from four-year colleges/universities. Only humanities and social sciences AP credits are accepted.
Pass/fail, satisfactory/unsatisfactory or other equivalent grading schemes will be accepted for Spring 2021 and Summer 2021 coursework, including prerequisites.

DAT and Shadowing Overview:
100 hours of shadowing are now recommended but not required. It is recommended that shadowing be completed in at least three different practices.
